Farm Sustainable environment steward garden homestead homesteading

Nestled in the rolling hills of Appalachia, Brown Barn Farm is a family-run homestead dedicated to living in harmony with nature. We are passionate about sustainable, organic farming, regenerative practices, and sharing this journey with our community.

Our Story

We started Brown Barn Farm when we realized how disconnected modern life had become from the seasons and soil. Naming the farm after the original brown barn on the property, we set out to restore the land and reclaim the joys of hands-on farming—from planting seeds to baking fresh bread.

What We Grow, Raise, and Share
  • Animals: Miniature donkeys, sheep, and more—each with a story and role in our ecosystem.

  • Gardening: From heirloom vegetables to pollinator-friendly blooms, we grow for purpose.

  • Recipes: We’ll share what grows from garden-to-kitchen—like lamb chops to sourdough starter!

  • Sustainable Living: Learn with us through workshops, blog posts, and hands-on tours.

Our Values
  • Earth Stewardship: Everything we do is guided by regenerative, organic principles.

  • Education & Community: We believe in empowering others to grow their own connection to nature—whether in a backyard bed or an urban garden.

  • Transparency & Joy: Farming can be messy and unpredictable, but it’s always full of discovery and joy.
